Diabetes and Stroke Self Management Made Easy

Having breakfast early may lower your risk of type 2 diabetes.

A new study has found that not only watching what we consume but also when we eat can help lower our chance of developing diabetes.

Having breakfast after 9 a.m. raises the chance of acquiring Diabetes type 2 by 59% in comparison to having breakfast before 8 a.m., according to a study by ISGlobal backed by the “la Caixa” Foundation.

The study, which monitored more than 100,000 subjects in a French cohort, discovered that the time of meals is crucial for controlling circadian rhythms, as well as glucose and cholesterol levels. The study team discovered that skipping breakfast had an impact on insulin levels as well as glucose and lipid regulation.

In addition, having dinner later increased the risk, but eating more frequently was linked to a reduced incidence of the condition. Long-term fasting was only advantageous if it was followed by an early dinnerand early breakfast.

The findings imply that eating your first meal at 8 am and your last meal at 7 pm may help lower the prevalence of diabetes of the type 2 variety. In order to prevent developing type 2 diabetes and other chronic diseases, this study reinforces the importance of chrononutrition, which combines the relationship involving dietary habits, circadian rhythms, and wellbeing.
